Increased Social Media Spending

Increased Social Media Spending in the New Year

This is an article from a blog about Search Engine Optimization. It discusses new trends for 2010 and how people will be changing what they spend money on, marketing-wise. Ironically, SEO is number 3 on the list for increased spending. Social Media and online video are number 1 and 2, respectively.

Businesses understand that what got them here in terms of marketing won’t get them any further. Why should consumers continue to pay attention (now a scarce resource) to companies that don’t get them? There’s no shortage of ads for people to wade through. There’s a shortage of attention. How can you get some of people’s attention when they’re constantly bombarded with information every time they click to a new page? You build relationships and make yourself trustworthy, that’s what you must do.
